Great thanks to Maddie for a lovely Ask the Author Ses!

What would you like readers to know about you?

I’d like readers to know how amazing it is to find readers! The inception of ideas and completion of projects comes easily to me. My struggle is in finding those elusive, amazing humans who want to carry a part of my heart in their pocket. In short: thank you.

What is your book about for those who haven’t read it?

Sluts and Whores is a short story collection full of magic, angst, and hope. It challenges damaging stereotypes of sex workers by placing a variety of characters into unexpected, and often magical, scenarios.

What has been your inspiration for writing it?

The stories in this book were written over a span of at least a decade. I was suddenly inspired to arrange this collection on a bright summer day in Toronto, ON when I wasbrokeand miserable. The rest is history!

Review #1! {Stuff About Connection}

“What I hope my writing reflects is a sense of the connections between all human beings.”

-Chris Crutcher

Typesetters has honoured Sluts and Whores with its inaugural review!

I cannot thank this reviewer enough! They were attentive, communicative, and truly care about writers.

Their words were so sincere, I cried happy tears. 💕

A review like this reminds me why I write.

By sharing my soul, I want to help others connect with theirs.

By revealing my hurts, I hope people will be inspired to face their own.

Success is about connections. And I am so grateful to have made a connection with Typesetters.

BLOOPER Reel! {Stuff About Imperfection}

“Nobody’s perfect.”

That’s easy to say- even easier to type.

Harder to live.

I loathe limits, fear my flaws, resist humanity’s core.

It takes ample courage to embrace imperfection.

And even more to laugh it off.

When making silly vids like the one above, I fret insincerity. Am I being my whole, true Self keeping things light when things have been so hard?

Pain is prominent. I can’t avoid that truth, nor do I wish to enhance it.

I don’t care about “disturbing the comfortable”, though I long to comfort the disturbed.

I want my work to be a haven for those who grew up feeling like they didn’t belong, as I did.

I woke up crying recently. (This happens more than I’d care to admit.)

I picked up my book, read some stories, and found comfort therein.

Perhaps, if my writing can help me, it can help others, too.

C.E. Hoffman’s “Sluts and Whores” Slated for Release

My interview with the amazing Misty Rampart of Pink Litter Magazine!

Pink Litter.

Past contributor C.E. Hoffman, who penned Bloom (Blowjobs) is set to release her collection of short stories February 14, 2021!

Go to her website for more information.

Here is an interview with the author:

PL: Please start by telling us a little about yourself and how you began as an artist.

C.E. Hoffman:I’ve felt the creative urge as long as I can remember. My parents will tell you I used to narrate stories minutes long (often longer!) when I was wee. I wrote my first full-length novel (over 400 pages) at eleven years old, and the muse has remained ever-loyal- if not demanding!

PL: What does the art express or mean to you personally? At the same time, what kind of thought or feeling are you trying to evoke from your audience?

C.E. Hoffman:Writing is my liferaft. Some seek inspiration to write- I seek methods to stop!…

Lucky Girl- Arm Candy (NEW SINGLE!)

My NEW SINGLE, Arm Candy, is OUT NOW!

And it merits backstory.

I refrain from divulging intimately on the internet. In this instance, honesty is worth sacrificing some discretion.

Halloween is about shadow. Embracing, accepting, even celebrating it (within reason.) It brings scars to light.

This song reveals qualities I try to hide: my clinginess, neediness, my inability to let go. A side most typically induced via entanglement with narcissists.

I hope this song will comfort those who struggle to exit toxic situations. As for those who made it through: consider it our power anthem (particularly the third verse.)

It’s best we all stay home this Halloween. May this song accompany your cozy indoor ventures!

Gratuitous thanks to TC, an awe-inspiring producer/musician. (All instrumental and cover design credit goes to you!)

Thanks to Lauren at Chatters for the rockstar hair, and to Candy Candy, for supplying the candy necklaces! You helped make the cover a reality.

Thanks to Kent Hoffman and Katherine Hoffman (aka mumndad) for exploitation of their basement, and, as ever, their patience.

Time to exorcise some demons.
